NKCPS Student Achievement
School divisions are required to report the academic achievement results of their students to parents and the community. The Commonwealth of Virginia uses SOL test data and graduation data to determine whether schools are to be accredited. This includes SOL results in reading, math, science and social studies.  For a detailed explanation of accountability and accreditation in the Commonwealth of Virginia visit the Virginia Department of Education Accountability webpage. The results from the 2012-2013 school year indicated that all four (4) of our schools are fully accredited by the state.

The federal No Child Left Behind Act requires that school divisions break down the results of our SOL tests by the various sub groups of students in their student body. This act has set targets for school divisions to achieve in reading and math, participation rates, attendance rates, and graduation rates. The results indicate that two out of four New Kent schools have met the Annually Measurable Objectives (AMOs).  The VDOE Accountability webpage has information regarding federal accountability requirements as well.

The Virginia School Report Card is produced and made public each year to indicate the progress made toward accreditation and federal accountability in each school division and individual school.  The report cards for NKCPS and each school in New Kent may be reached by following the links below.
