ZippSlip allows families to submit required school forms electronically through a secure website prior to school starting.     ZippSlip Online Forms will be available beginning Thursday, August 23 after 4:00 p.m.  Forms include Student Information Update, Receipt of Code of Conduct, Bus Change Form, Opt-Out Form for Scoliosis Screening, Refusal to Release Student Information, and the Medical Form.  All forms will be submitted and managed through ZippSlip. If you do not have access to ZippSlip, we will provide a computer for you at your child’s school during regular business hours or your child’s school’s Open House.

*ZippSlip may be accessed through the hyperlink above or  For information on how to login review the ZippSlip FAQ

Bus Information

Your child’s bus route information will be posted on ZippSlip on August 23rd. ZippSlip will also include a form that will allow parents to request a bus stop change if needed.  A change request must be submitted by Tuesday, August 28 by 4:00 pm either in ZippSlip or at your child’s school in order for the request to be considered for the first day of school.  Requests made after this time will be reviewed after the first day of school. As route requests are approved, the times and routes may change.  All finalized bus routes for the first day of school will be updated on ZippSlip on Friday, August 31 by 4:00 pm.

All bus route information will be posted to the New Kent Transportation Department website on Monday, August 20, 2018 that includes bus routes, stops, and times.  To access this information go to New Kent Transportation and use the password that was sent on August 16th in a BlackboardConnect communication.

PowerSchool gives families of students in grades 2-12 easy access to class grades, attendance information, and student schedules.  The online tool comes in two versions: one for students and one for parents and guardians called PowerSchool Parent Portal.

On Friday, August 31, PowerSchool Parent Portal access will be available for account creation and to view student schedules for grades 2-12.

On Monday, September 17, grades and attendance information will begin posting on PowerSchool Parent Portal for students in grades 2-12.

While students can log in using their NKCPS usernames and passwords, parents and guardians must create their own accounts.  Parents who used the system in 2017-18 will be able to log in with their existing usernames and passwords.

Parents can also access PowerSchool using apps on their iOS or Android mobile devices.  The app will request a school access code the first time you open it. The access code is found in the left hand margin after logging into the parent portal on a computer.

BlackBoard Connect

BlackBoard Connect Portal ensures efficient communication between the schools, parents, and staff regarding general announcements and emergencies.  General information is updated via PowerSchool, however, if you would like to adjust your personal settings to best meet your family’s needs, such as adding cell phone numbers or email addresses to be contacted, you will need to access BlackBoard Connect.

Online School Payments (grades 6-12)

Beginning on Monday, August 27, Online School Payments is an easy way for families of middle- and high-schoolers to pay school fees electronically.  If you have not used Online School Payments before, you will need to set up an account. Please note that there is a convenience fee to use the service, which pays for the vendor’s costs.  Additional information about paying fees will be coming from your school in the upcoming week!

School Breakfast and Lunch

School Nutrition Services makes it easy to pay for meals, check menus, and more online (grades K-12).

Beginning on Monday, August 27, mySchoolBucks will be available for managing your students’ cafeteria accounts.  You can check balances and purchases, get low-balance alerts and set up automatic payments.  Additionally, see what’s on the menu at your school with MealViewer.  Please review the Back to School Letter from School Nutrition in ZippSlip for additional information.

Take mySchoolBucks wherever you go!  Make payments on-the-go, check balances, view purchases, and more!  Download the mySchoolBucks app on Google Play or iOS! Click here for additional information.

Families interested in applying for the national free-and-reduced-lunch program may access the application here.  Forms will also be sent home at the beginning of the school year with all students.  Families completing this form should also complete the waiver to share information with other programs, which can be found here and will also be sent home at the beginning of the school year with all students.
